Udinese...

“We should give 120%”

Juan Cuadrado: “We want Genoa to be a starting point. It does not matter who you are facing, but how you do it”

The Colombian lateral (“lateral what”?) is suspicious about so many absentees in Genoa: “We are facing a good team, they can be dangerous and they usually play quite offensive football. At the Luigi Ferraris (“stadium”?) we should give 120%. We feel the burden of not having won in any away match up to now, and we would like this game to be a starting point. It does not matter who you are facing, but how you do it. Moreover, I deeply esteem and trust my team mates and their team spirit”. The friendly match against Partizan Belgrade does not seem to be meaningful for the (without “the”?) Saturday’s match: “Our performance during the friendly match, (no comma) wasn’t remarkable. We can give much more and play better football”. How is Cuadrado’s adventure with Udinese going on? “Very well, I learn something every day. I am improving, and maturing. I have to thank Coda and Zapata, and the whole team, they are really teaching me a lot. I feel strong and fit, I am at the coach’s disposal. If I have the chance to play, I won’t let anyone down”.

“Time to be clever, shrewd, and concrete”

Maurizio Domizzi: “These are the details we have to work on. Every match is difficult, at this point of the campaign (“political”?), nobody wants to lose”

The central defender is finally back after a serious injury: “I am better now, even though I haven’t fixed all my physical problems yet. I didn’t want to stop and leave the team, but in the end I had to surrender, the injury was too serious. But now I am working to get to my top level”. Udinese seem to be suffering from a peculiar away match illness: “It is incredible we have not won an away match up to now. In Genoa, it won’t be easy, Genoa are living a positive moment (“going through….”?): they really played well in the last 5-6 matches, and last Sunday against Juventus they did not deserve losing at all”. The game against Milan, could have been different, for sure: “If only we hadn’t conceded that first goal. After Naples, we knew our problems hadn’t been fixed yet, but Huntelaar’s goal right after the starting whistle was a punch in the stomach”. The Bianconeri are missing one of their best elements, D’Agostino: “It won’t be easy to replace him. Maybe a change in the tactical module will be needed”. There are 3 matches in 9 days waiting for Udinese: the away match to (“in”?) Genoa, the rearranged (“rescheduled”?) match against Cagliari and the game against league leader, Inter. Who’s the toughest opponent? “At this point of the campaign (??), every match is fundamental, everyone has their objective to reach, and no one wants to lose. I consider Inter and Roma the ones to be a step further”. This could be the remedy: “It is time to be clever, shrewd and concrete. These are the details we have to concentrate on. There is no particular training for these elements, every one must look inside and pull them out” (???).

Udinese - FK Partizan Belgrade 2-1

Referee: Candussio (Cervignano)

Right after the beginning of the match, the Bianconeri take advantage of a bad foul suffered (???) by Badu within the penalty area. Lodi scores right into the net from the penalty spot. A few minutes later, Corradi tries to reach the goal, but the goalkeeper is ready to stop the shot. In the 37’ (“th”?), the opponent team (no need to repeat “team” if you already say “opponent”, which is a team against your own team) win a penalty: Cordova Cleo levels the result. During the second half, in the 20’, it is Alemao to move dangerously around the opponent’s net. Six minutes later, it is Lodi again to score for Udinese on a free kick. With only five minutes to go, the audience at the Friuli greet Christian Obodo with a standing ovation: “I am so happy – said Nigerian midfielder – ten minutes of an incredible value for me. I hope I can play at 100% as soon as possible.”

“In Milan to give an encore (??) of the win against Napoli”

Gokhan Inler: “On Friday night, not at all an easy match. The three points we got, (no comma here) proved really important. 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 it does not mean much, while a positive mental attitude means everything”

The Swiss midfielder strongly believes the bianconeri (“Bianconeri”?) can perform at their top level at the San Siro (“stadium”?) on Friday night: “It is going to be a different match from the one we played for the Coppa Italia. Our objective is to get more points even though we know it is not at all an easy match. Milan is playing at home and would like to win in front of their supporters. While we want to un-block the situation and start winning in (“during”?) away matches”. (“According to me,…”?) “Ronaldinho is Milan’s top player, according to me. The Brazilian could really score at any time. We must defend in numbers to block his initiatives”. The Friulians are leaving to do their best, (no comma here) and to give an encore of the win against Napoli. What we still do not know is the tactical module they are using: “4-3-3 or 4-4-2, it doesn’t mean much actually; while hitting the pitch with a positive mental attitude from the first minute means everything”. How does Gokhan Inler feel right now? “I feel well. In December I had a whole week off. I really needed to recover, to take a moment to think about the past and the future of Udinese and the team. I am especially concentrated on how to overcome this dead point” (???).
