Udinese...

23-01-2010

Sunday 24th January Udinese Store is open from 12,00 to 19,00 (“12.00”?). Some OUTLET items are waiting for you!

All Udinese supporters know (“should know”?) that during the home match the Udinese Store (near the Uffici Area at the Friuli Stadium) is open from 12,00 to 19,00. Some OUTLET item (the translator above wrote “OUTLET items”, here she rights “item”???) are already there for those who love vintage Udinese Calcio goods: T-shirts, sports equipment and gadgets from Udinese’s world (???) and their recent European history.

Great one from Naples soccer!

"Two thousand days shared with the Neapolitan supporters" Aurelio De Laurentiis, on Marte Radio, celebrates the two thousandth day as Napoli's President. Five and half years that led the Club from the Second division to the top of the Italian soccer.

"In these yaers (“years”?) I am grown (“I have grown”?) and matured with the Napoli (without “the”?). Now I am happy to be the President of a compact group and of a great team in the which (“in the which”?) the important concept of attachment is entrenches (“entrenched”?). I am satisfied about the players' identification in the responsability (“responsibility”?) sense that characterized our Club. This also thanks to the intelligent relation born with our coach. A man that I esteem and that I consider very able to improve the resources (which resources?).

Just Mazzarri said that himself accepted to be the Napoli's coach immediatly (“immediately”?) is very happy to be at Naples... (the entire phrase needs fixing up…)

"And I am as much as happy to have chose (“chosen”?) him. I had other names in (“on”?) my list but he was my first thought. I liked Mazzarri immediatly (“immediately”?) for his frankness, his seriousness and responsibility (“responsibility”?) . Not only I always had a splendid relation with the Tuscany's people (re-phrase). Staring form Benigni, to Veronesi, until neri Parenti, with him I have a professional relation since 15 years (???). About Mazzarri I like his being a leader (???) in the way to lead his work. He gives me serenty (“serenity”?) and I am sure that with him we will go far".

Hamsik said he wants to remain in our Club for ever...

"And we are happy to have hi (“him”?) in our family. With his agent we discussed about the contract prolongation. On may (“in May”?) we will decide everything".

A greeting from the President to the supporters...

"My wish is to continue so, little by little to theprefixed (“prefixed”?) aim . My target is to wait on all our supporters in the world creating a big umbilical cord (???). Today people say we are a great Club projected to (“towards”?) the future. I am happy to lead this Club, my enthusiasm is so much that I don't feel like a sixty year old but three time (“three times”?) like a twenty year-old. The wish is to fulfil our common passion for the 'blue shirt' with targets more and more important" (“which are more and more important”?)

Udinese...

23-01-2010

“Tomorrow, we are playing a fundamental match”

This is how coach Gianni De Biasi speaks about tomorrow’s game. “ I want my man (you mean, against 11 Sampdoria players De Biasi is only going to field one “man”?) to be quick and to take advantage of dead balls”

Good performances, quick improvement. The three points are the only thing still to come. Gianni De Biasi’s words mirror his and the squad’s determination. ”The team have (“has”?) recently improved a lot under the resistance and determination point of view (“points of view”?). I really like this”. It should be easy then to lead tomorrow’s game for the whole 90 minutes: “What we expect is an opposing team keen on overcoming their difficult moment. So, I expect even more determination from my men: I want them to be quick and to take advantage of dead balls. We have trained a lot on these aspects this week.” According to De Biasi, Udinese-Sampdoria has nothing to do with tactical modules: “Motivation must be prominent for Sunday’s match: we are playing just a fundamental match tomorrow”. Now a word about a couple of players. “Gaetano D’Agostino is playing for sure tomorrow despite he suffered a slight illness last night, and as for Antonio Floro Flores, he has worked hard and cannot wait to play and honour his uniform”.

Unpolite?

Yes, those Italian journalists, right up there as always with the English language! From the March 1st, 2010 edition of “La Repubblica” and an article on English historian Denis Mack Smith. Journalist Simonetta Fiori states that Mack Smith (apparently) says the following: “..very unpolite”? Or should it be “impolite”?

In another article in the very same paper on singer Lady Gaga, Repubblica’s Laura Putti says that during one of her concerts, the following appeared on a screen: “What the fucking have you done”? Fucking, or “What the fuck have you done”?

Udinese, what else?

22-01-2010

“This is probably the most important week of the campaign (“political”???)”

Simone Pepe: “Sampdoria and Udinese are quite similar: we can only win, we have no alternatives. The three points must be ours”

The bianconero forward has just come back after a bad injury that has forced him to stop for two months and he seems to have no doubts about how to behave next Sunday at the Friuli: “It is always the same: against Lazio and Parma we played with the right winning attitude but we missed the chance to score. We have to improve under this point of view”. The table position for the Friulians is not that easy, though: “Our alert level must be high, because the risk to be relegated is concrete. Udinese regulars and I usually spend some time in the dressing room speaking to the younger guys to make them understand how delicate this moment is”.
The team’s general physical condition seems to have improved game after game: “Yes, we feel fit and ready. As for me and my injury, I really feel stronger now, but the injury was serious". Udinese still do not know whether Cassano is playing or not: “Sampdoria and Udinese are quite similar: we can only win, we have no alternatives. The three points must be ours. We are concentrated on our objective, I mean we all want to overcome this impasse”. This is probably the most important week of the campaign (??) for the bianconeri: Coppa Italia and the league represent a challenge that can transform the season. “We have three important games in front of us. The Coppa Italia match in Milan is just fundamental. In Catania then, we are facing a team which is just as willing to win as we are.” (“We are then facing a team in Catana…”?)
