A future protagonist, a brilliant player

We have seen him defending Udinese goal (“Udinese’s goal”?) at the “Bortolotti” trophy, even if only for one half, proving to be self-confident and reliable: Rafael Romo will be ready once again. His CV is a warranty (“guarantee”?), as he has already made 8 appearances (“caps”?) with Venezuela team (“with the Venezuelan national team”?), a selection rising in South America. With the “vinotinto” Romo has shown off (???) in 2009 with Under 20, in the category tournament. Udinese have bought him that year (“bought him that year”?), while he was having time to play the U20 World Cup and pass the first play-off round. With Udinese, he has played (“he played”?) for the first time on 15 May 2010 at the Olimpico stadium against Lazio. His experience starts (“started”?) in the Youth Team, before being lent to “adults” (“the adults”?) in his Venezuela, to Estudiantes de Merida.

He has just turned 22, yet Romo is thought to be a talented players with a good margin for improvement, exploiting his noticeable figure that frightens the opponents: 197 cm by 85 kg make a sort of shutter (??) of him, unbeatable in high saves. Time is on his side, and figures (???) say he will be one of the protagonists of the future.

Colombian lightning: Muriel wants to charm

Four goals, just to start. Ok, it’s summer football, Ok, the opponent was the Friuli Venezia Giulia selection. But you know what they say, “well begun is half done” (!!!). Wise phrase coming from something true, so let’s enjoy the blooming of Luis Fernando Muriel Fruto from Santo Tomás, a boy who only South American football fanatics could have known until one year ago, but who is bound to become one of the best players of the Serie A after the useful experience in Lecce.

Everybody is waiting on him, he seems to be ready, to be a future champion: the second goal scored to (“against”?) the young Friulian players was a jewel, the action having started from the halfback line and finished in the box, after Muriel had managed to jump a defender and the goalkeeper. 

Also the fourth goal was a considerable one: he waits (“waited”?) for Pasquale’s cross, lets (“let”?) the ball bounce and scores (“scored”?). But there is also the rest of the friendly match to show how good he is, such as the penalty and a touch at a close range, typical of a penalty area expert: a complete repertoire, to give positive, encouraging sensations one month ahead of the Champions League (“Champions’ League”?) play-off.

He didn’t have time in South America to experience international competitions because he was so talented that he had to leave for Europe when he was very young. We are sure he will not be afraid anyway. How can you question someone who has scored 5 goals out of 18 Serie A matches at his debut?

New Friuli stadium: the dream begins tomorrow

All is set and ready at Udinese for the presentation of the renewal project concerning the Friuli stadium scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, 23 July, at 12noon, in the press room of the stadium. Gianpaolo Pozzo, along with the managers of the Club, the Mayor of Udine Furio Honsell, the FIGC Manager for the Study, Development and Special Initiatives Michele Uva and the Special Commissioner of the Institute for Sports Credit Marcello Clarich and Paolo D’Alessio will illustrate modality (“the modality”?) and timetable of the project that is going to provide Udine with a modern, comfortable, futuristic facility.  Details will be illustrated by Roberto Regni, legal engineer (“the local engineer”?) representing the temporary group of professionals of the “Area Progetto Stadio Friuli” charged (“in charge with”?) with the planning of the new facility: he will show a gallery of graphic works and a video rendering to let the audience admire the “Friuli” of the future.

The press conference, moderated by the journalist Michele Criscitiello, will be broadcast live (in Friuli Venezia Giulia) on Udinese Channel, channel 110 of the digital terrestrial television.

Looking for the explosive mixture

A first brief friendly match to dispose of the first workloads (“workload”?) and to start and get to know each other better. All of the players. Yet some indications have been obtained. Such as Muriel’s confirmation. The Colombian player was one of the protagonists of the match against Arta/Cedarchis having scored 4 goals in the first 45 minutes’ game, showing that his feeling with goals is intact. Waiting to see him playing with Di Natale, awaited soon in Arta Terme to join the rest of the group (incomplete sentence?).

All with the same goal, the Champions League (“Champinos’ League”?) play-off round. Guidolin has tested Luis Muriel as a first striker with Fabbrini as a helper (??). We all know how good Guidolin is at enhancing the virtues of his players, so these preliminary tests are useful for him to understand how to take advantage of Muriel’s quality and make him even more lethal.

Many of the new signings (??) such as Allan and Willians have also been tried out in the starting eleven. The Brazilian players have been put in the hard (??) of the halfback line where Udinese tactics reach their highest point. Faraoni and Maicosuel have joined the squad in the second half. They are new signings (??) yet incredibly driven to play for the sake of Udinese, as they said to Udinese Channel.

A new test in Imponzo is scheduled for Sunday, against the Friuli Venezia Giulia’s Juniores Regional Representative.

Experiments continue, looking for a new explosive mixture (about the only thing that is always “explosive” is Udinese’s web site in English!!!!!).

A new house for a long, black and white shiver (???)

The emotion of playing in a new, futuristic home to call their own. Udinese are ready to renew the Friuli stadium and make it a real point of reference for all supporters. The works (“work”?) are (“is”?) about to be started to make the stadium more modern and comfortable. The Friuli will change aspect and supporters will be much closer to their darlings (???), since the athletics (“athletic”?) track will be removed in order to bring the pitch closer to the terraces (“stands”?).
A new fortress exclusively dedicated to Udinese, where the warmth of people, growing every year, can be felt by the footballers and by the opponents who will come to play to the Friuli (“in the Friuli”?). This den will frighten whoever enters the pitch (!!!).
The far-sightedness of the Club, along with a serious, accurated (“accurate”?) project, have been the anticipation of the decision made by the Town Council to entrust the management of the stadium to Udinese Calcio for 99 years: this was a fundamental step for Udinese to keep being a top Club in Italy and abroad.
We are curious to see how the new stadium will look like, even though we are sure it will be the ideal place where to unite a great passion called Udinese.

EXCLUSIVE – Pozzo: “Used to bad marks. Fans, do trust us!”

Udinese patron Gianpaolo Pozzo has gone visiting (“has gone to visit”?) Guidolin’s squad during the summer training camp in Arta Terme. Interviewed by Udinese Channel, he reassured the supporters about the bounty (??) of transfer market operations and said supporters should sleep tight: Udinese’s strategies are serious and competitive.
“We have been given bad marks for years at the beginning of every season – he said – but then, throughout the year, we always manage to prove to be a good team. Supporters (“The supporters”) should feel safe and believe in us”.
