"Udinese symbol of Friuli"
Mayor Furio Honsell: "We are lucky to have Udinese. Football is an international language"
President Franco Soldati, midfielder Guilherme Siqueira and Udine’s mayor Furio Honsell have spoken today for (“at…”?) the usual press conference of “Piccolo tifosi crescono” in front of a big audience. Mayor Honsell’s words have been encouraging: "We are lucky to have Udinese. When I was the Rector of Udine University (“The University of Udine”?, I used to travel around the world and everybody knew Udinese: football is an international language. When the F.I.G.C. chose our town to hold the European Cup 2016, they must have looked at the up-to-date sports institutions we have and, of course, at Udinese (n.b. Nothing at time of writing has been determined vis-à-vis the 2016 Euro championship and Udine!). Special thanks (“goes to…”?) to the Pozzo family for their commitment in promoting and forwarding the sports culture on our territory” (or “in our region”).
