Udinese...

Guidolin: “In Rome we can win with a right outlook”

Udinese is counting the players available after the National Teams’ matches and no one is missing: “I know the guys are all doing fine, even though on Wednesday they’ve been very busy. It’s enoughby me – says the coach, Francesco Guidolin -. I haven’t chosen who to send in tomorrow yet. I will decide under the wire (barbed wire perhaps?), as I want to take as much time as I need. I worked well with those who stayed in Udine and they showed me their commitment, application (such as in “application form”?) and devotion. This attitude is now a constant” (a constant what?). Sanchez and Isla are coming back to Italy after a long trip. Are they to be thrown immediately in (“into”?) the fray? “They’re young and enthusiastic, but there’s a game to play and one day of rest less (??). We’ll see”.
Udinese last won in Rome since 2005/2006, when the match was decided by Sulley Muntari’s prowess: “We are to face a team with renewed health, spirit and results. They are one of the strongest teams of our championship, and surely the best one concerning their quality. To score, in our capital city, we’ll have to run, sacrifice ourselves, try to get wrong as little as we can and play with courage (a nice and “coherent” sentence…). De Rossi is not playing? Ranieri’s choices will be easier (he laughs). Roma don’t miss alternatives”. Udinese will have to play their cards with no fear (??): “We know we can risk with any opponent provided that we take the field with humbleness, determination and respect. If we lower our intensity, we give uor (“our”) opponents an advantage. We can’t waste our time in affectations (??), as they make us worse. The opponents often give you troubles (isn’t that related to Northen Ireland?) and sometimes in order to win it is useful to entrench (??), but we never did so. In Rome I’d love to see that Udinese I saw in Boulogne (or “Bologna”?), Genova and Bari, but we must bear in mind who we’re facing. Roma is a complete team, they have big names and an excellent quality in every position”. Cristian Zapata, the Colombian defender, is not in the list of the called-ups (??): “He is on the bend, but I can’t put him at stake (??). I can count on other players who can do just as well”.
Twelve years ago, at (“the”?) “Olimpico”, the coach from Castelfranco Veneto, training Udinese, suffered a huge defeat: “One of the worst of my entire career. We went in (“to”?) Rome, we were presumptuous, and we conceded four goals. With such an attitude you can only lose, but this time we can win with a right outlook. I have told my players about that story, because I want that (??) to teach us something”.
