Udinese...

Di Natale awarded in Chieti: “We end the season with a bang”

Earlier this afternoon at (“the”?) Teatro Marrucino in Chieti there was a ceremony for the presentation of (“the”?) IX Edition of the National Prize “Giuseppe Prisco” dedicated to loyalty, correctness and sporting niceness (???) and, at the same time, the VII Edition of (“the”?) National Prize of Journalism ”Nando Martellini”, awarded this year to Cesena’s president, Igor Campedelli, Udinese’s player, Antonio Di Natale, Napoli’s coach, Walter Mazzarri and the journalist Roberto Beccantini, chosen by a jury chaired by Sergio Zavoli and composed (“comprised of”?) by Italo Cucci, Gian Paolo Ormezzano, Gianni Mura and Corinto Zocchi, (“a”?) general in the Carabinieri army, president of the organising committee and author of Premio Prisco.

“I’m honoured of being awarded - Udinese captain commented - values such as loyalty, correctness and sporting niceness (??) have featured (???) my career for ever. We’re living a beautiful season, now we want to end it with a bang. We know on Sunday we’re facing a tough match against Italy’s champions, but we'll do anything we can to conquer that point that would mean (“the Champions’ “?)Champions League". Francesco Guidolin’s number 10 surely is one of the reasons why the ride (??) of the squad has worked so well. “57 goals in two years are a lot, but the most important thing is that Udinese is at a top level". Do you have any regret (or “regrets”?)? “No, I don’t regret having refused Juventus at the beginning of the season”.

A special award was also given to the sport journalist Federico De Carolis. The winners have withdrawn the prize personally: it is a valuable work made by the late sculptor Pietro Cascella, called “Towards the goal". The event ended with an intervention of (“by”?)Sergio Zavoli, who talked about the originality of the prize and the high ethical value held in its aim.
Among others, the event was attended by Chievo's prefect Vincenzo Greco, the mayor Umberto Di Primio, the president of (“the”?) Regional Council of Abruzzo Nazario Pagano, the president of the Province Enrico Di Giuseppantonio and several other civil, political and military authorities, as well as a numerous audience.
