On the recent massacre of innocent people in Afghanistan at the hands of some supposed drunk U.S. soldiers, “La Repubblica’s” Vittorio Zucconi made some comparisons with other famous tragedies of the past, such as the 1969 slaughter of some 500 people during the Vietnam War under the orders of U.S. LT. William Calley. That tragedy took place at My Lay.
Or was it “My Lai”? As one can see by the March 12th, 2012 article by Zucconi, the description under the picture says “My Lay”. On the left in his article Zucconi’s instead written “My Lai”. What’s REALLY comical is in another part of the very same article, he wrote “My Lay”!
So what is it, “My Lay” or “My Lai”???
