Udinese...

02-04-2012

Nothing’s changed: COME ON!!

The chase for Europe is still open, both for the Champions (“Champions’”?) and for the Europa League. After week 30 of the Serie A, with 8 matches to be played yet, everything is at stake. The running of the pretenders (the musical group?) has slowed down a lot. Lazio, in the last 4 matches, have conquered 3 points. Napoli, in the last 2 matches, have conquered 2 points, as well as Francesco Guidolin’s Udinese. Everyone has slowed down, postponing the clash to tie matches (Roma-Udinese, Udinese-Inter and Udinese-Lazio). It’s not a coincidence that in this period the most tired clubs are the ones that have represented Italy in Europe more often. Next Saturday, Donadoni’s Parma are coming to the Friuli stadium. We’ll have to take advantage from the tie match between Lazio and Napoli, also Roma are running after Europe.
Don’t give up people, we need all of you on Saturday at the Friuli!!

Guidolin: “We’re not dead. Europe is still there”

The defeat hurts and that lack of points is even more hurtful, but Guidolin doesn’t lose hope and re-launches his squad in the chase for Europe: “We are not as slick as we were one month ago, but we’re not dead, Europe is still there and if we manage to reach it this year we’ll have to open a bottle of champagne”. After a marvellous (“marvelous”?) first leg, the hardest time (??) . How can we come out of it?

“We were good at transforming the first leg in a showcase. The points we gathered back then allow us to be still (“to still be”?) in the upper part of the table. We want to insist: if we don’t get to Europe, it won’t matter. But if we do, that would be extraordinary”. Roma and Inter’s wins bring them closer to you... “We are being surrounded by great clubs right now. We’ll try to stay around till the end. Right now we miss something, we’re not as dangerous as we were at the beginning of the season, neither are we as brilliant (nor are Udinese’s translators…). We also suffered from the heat today, but we still have the strength to believe in our dreams”.
