Udinese and its lions!

28-08-2012

The night of nights

Some nights write history, some nights make it all worthwhile. Some nights can be given only by such a competitions (“by such a competition”?) as the Champions League (“Champions’ League”?). The draw in Braga six days ago is but a memory because destiny, just like 365 days ago, passes by the same point. The Friuli. Home to Udinese, it hosts the Champions League (“Champions’ League”?) second-leg play-off tie. 90 minutes to bring Udinese back in the most important European competition surrounded by a magical sound.

People, town, Club, team. All together to try and fulfill a dream that passes through a friendly ground (??), there where your emotions can be shared with your own people. Our people. From them the major boost must come (“The major boost must come from them”?): Guidolin’s squad needs to be encouraged by the roaring (like lions?) of its stadium, full of love and proudness (“pride”?) for those who take the field with one single aim.

Once again the opponent is tough and hard to understand, because Braga have no intention of being the spectators of an already-written script. To run, to sweat, to fight, to score. One goal, one aim. The coach has trained his squad at best. They, the protagonists of this tale, know what needs to be done and what was not done against Arsenal one year ago. What must be avoided this time.
One night under a Friulian sky turning black and white. Let the lights shine on. Let them play. Fuarce Udin!

Napoli!

Mazzarri: I have confidence in this Napoli, to Palermo with conviction

"I have confidence in this Napoli". Walter Mazzarri is serene and full (of what?) on the eve of his debut in the League. The coach has clear ideas and lots of adrenaline.
"I'm happy and I believe a lot in my team. I think Bigon and De Laurentiis may acquire in these days an outside (an outside what?) which I think is the only element that (“is still missing”?)still missing. For the rest I am very pleased with both the Group and newcomers. El Kaddouri comes to complete qualitatively  the team. He's an interesting young (young what?) and I'm very curious and stimulated to help and make him grow ".

"I'm already in match atmosphere. In Palermo we will meet many pitfalls, but we will do our best to take all three points at home. We Meet (or “meet”?) a strong team on a field that gave us often bitterness. I think Palermo is stronger than last year, an organic (???)more equipped with a good coach who put us in trouble over Siena last season "
Mazzarri thanks Abete that listened to De Laurentiis for innovation of the long bench (???)... "I am very happy with the decision taken at the request of our President, I guess it's a good thing because one of the ugliest things that a coach can do is send a player on (“in the”?) stands after he had a week of work with the team. It is a great innovation and a rule which testifies that intelligent proposals are put into practice. I Thank (“thank”?) Abete and the Figc for this ".

A passage on the words of Carrera ... "I want to close it there the story(nice sentence!!!) and not continue the controversy. Then if a day will take time, maybe Frustalupi'll answer him , I don't mean to go further " (another great sentence!).
It's back on the Championship and goals: "I don't ever (ever what?) predictions, I'm a realist (“realistic”?) man, I live to day (“today”?) and I want to win every match. I say that in the starting grid Juve has strengthened, Inter have worked well and the Rome (“Roma”?) I believe was already strong last year and now has enriched the team with young people. It can be the surprise Fiorentina “(Fiorentina can be the surprise”?) which made interesting purchases. I think it will be a balanced League. I have confidence in my team, in (“during the summer test match”?) summer test match we faced with great ease European provenance (????) teams, and this gives me more conviction. Now we will see how we will translate (translate Croce? Hemingway? Dante?) on (“the”?) field this growth starting from tomorrow "

How much weigh (???) the suspensions of Beijing? "We do not put even the finger in the wound (!!!). It is clear that there will not be three major players which, inter alia, penalise us ever on left Department (????) where I don't have a role player. But I am confident because who will go on the pitch knows what needs to be done "
There will be immediately Insigne in Palermo? "It's possible, but I want to check him well yet (!!!). The guy has talent and character, he showed it on the pitch so far. As an absolute value, beyond the technique, I tell you that has (who has great inner strength?) great inner strength. However, we expect his eventual  true debut in premier league to give an assessment "

This year you'll have more gaming solutions ... "Yes, especially in midfield we can adopt two schemas (“schemes”?) because I have four players, while last year I had only three being Donadel injured (???). We bet a lot on his recovery because he showed how much he values with Prandelli in Fiorentina also in Champions League (great sentence!). When he'll be at the top he could be both central substituting Inler and halfback. For the rest we are covered as number both in defence and in attack. In the offensive Department (???) over Pandev and Cavani, also Vargas can play the role of first forward "

Where can this Napoli get(????)? "I repeat that I don't make predictions. The team is here and I tell fans to be close us (“close to us”?). Between us there is a beautiful feeling, people know that the guys give everything on the pitch and there has always been clearness (!!!!)between us and our supporters. We have always been of speech (?????) and we want to continue on the path of growth ... "

Udinese....

Guidolin: “Our game should be bettered(“improved”?)”

“We stood until the end(stood where?, but Fiorentina didn’t steal anything and played better than us. We didn’t manage to start again, which is a shame”.

It is the bitter judgement (“judgement”?)of Francesco Guidolin after the defeat in Florence: “Maicosuel? He is a quality player indeed, he still has to settle in and he’s not on top of condition (“he’s not in top shape”?) – he said -. Do we need another forward? I don’t talk about (“the”?)transfer market, we’ll see what happens. Today’s (“Today”?)and Wednesday’s games have something in common: we played a good first half and a bad second half. We need to do better”.

Udinese...

23-08-2012

Guidolin: “All determined on Tuesday (“All will be determined on Tuesday”?)”

The draw in Braga gives no certainty on the future, and Udinese coach Guidolin knows it well: “I cannot feel disappointed by this result, which I think is a positive one – says the coach at the end of the first-leg game -. My players and I, in the locker room, have understood that this good performance is not enough to turn (??) for the next phase”.

Don’t you think Udinese were a little bit too low (???) ?  “I don’t know if it depends on the physical condition or on our opponents. I honestly don’t think it has to do with health (“with being in shape”?). We faced a strong team that didn’t deserve to lose. We got too many passes and backings (??) wrong. Despite all (this?), the most important attempts were made by us. The challenge is not over, everything will be determined next Tuesday”.  Do you think you need new force from (the?) transfer market? “I don’t talk about (the?) transfer market. I discussed it (“I’ve been discussing it with my club in our offices since May 29th”?) with my Club in our offices since 29 May. I know this year is going to be hard, this qualification may give us a fundamental boost for the rest of the year”.  What do you think of Brkic?

“He’s growing (???) and showing to be a good goalkeeper. He is here to substitute him (him who?) who is probably the best keeper of Europe”.

Basta: “Good first half, we need to attack more”

“It could have gone better but even worse. We played a brilliant first half, we had made a good start then we went down in the second half. We need to attack more if we want to play better, but a draw is a good result anyway. I hope we turn (??) for the next phase”. So Dusan Basta has talked (??) after the away match in Braga counting for the Champions League play-off rounds.

“We are optimist (“optimistic”?), we will be playing in front of our supporters in the second leg. The first game is always the toughest. Now we have a tough game ahead in Florence, then the second leg at home. Brkic? It’s not easy to stand such a pressure after Handanovic, but he’s proving to be a good goalkeeper”.

Udinese...

20-08-2012

Pozzo: “Mazza gave Udinese an entrepreneurial mentality”

A forerunner of modern football, a person who made him fall in love with Udinese. Gianpaolo Pozzo, Udinese patron (“Udinese’s owner”?), commemorates Cavalier Lamberto Mazza, former president of Udinese at Zico’s age, who died this morning in Pordenone.

“I fell in love with Udinese thanks to Zico – Pozzo has said – and for this, and for the structural betterments (???) the stadium has been provided with we have to thank Mr Mazza, who has done a lot for our team. Beside (“Besides”?) personal events, Udinese lived an exceptional period under his leadership. If Mr Sanson brought the squad back to the Serie A, Mr Mazza gave it an extra boost and brought an entrepreneurial mentality into the environment, giving a turn to Udinese’s history”.

Guidolin: “Training at the stadium? No counter-intelligence intention”

There is no hidden reason, no intention to protect “his” creature in the choice made by Francesco Guidolin to carry out training sessions at the Friuli instead of (“at”?) the Dino Bruseschi sports centre. A decision made according to two fundamental factors.
“There is no hidden, secret intention in my choice – the coach has said earlier today – and I am not trying to prevent anyone from spying (“spying on”?) our training sessions. I just think that the grandstand can protect us from the suffocating heat and allow us to breathe a little bit better. Moreover, the training ground at the Bruseschi are not  (“is not”?) in the best condition, that is why I have chosen to have my lads train at the Friuli, that still has to be given full practicability after the renovations occurred (??) to the stands, therefore it cannot be open to the public. I hope the situation can change soon, I like supporters to come and give a boost to the squad, I’ve never thought carrying (“never thought that”?) out closed-door sessions can be of any help”.

Udinese...

05-08-2012

Thank you!

It has been a real exodus of thousands of people the one we witnessed today during the first important friendly match of the season. In Klagenfurt Udinese have been (“was followed”?) followed by a large number of cars and coaches full of organized supporters heading to Austria. Thousands of supporters have rooted (“cheered for”?) for Udinese on the pitch of the “Worthersee Stadion” against Schalke 04 during the whole game. A continuous, constant support that represents a new, further proof of the love felt by the people of the Friuli towards these colours after the 10000 (“10,000”?) season tickets sold in the first phase of the membership campaign. Thanks, lads!

Happy end, or happy ending?

Maurizio Trombetta: Udinese’s “Champions-man”

The adventure in the Champions League (“Champions’ League”?) starts from a man who has a long experience in the continental competition, one of the most important collaborators of Francesco Guidolin. He is Maurizio Trombetta, technical trainer since March.

Born in Udine, Mr Trombetta started playing football with Udinese, with whom he won the shield in 1981 (youth team championship) and made his debut in the Serie A in 1981-82. Then he wandered about Italy, among Catanzaro, Spal, Giorgione, Pistoiese and Triestina. With Triestina he spent more seasons and got more happiness (???), getting one promotion to the second division.

After leaving football he came back to Udine in 1994 to start training the Allievi Nazionali. The promotion to second coach of the first team, the wandering (???), the comeback (“return”?) to Udinese in 1998 and 2006 and finally a turn: the trip to Romania and the promotion to main coach of Cluj, current (“currently”?) Romania’s winning team. It is Champions League (“Champions’ League”?) for him with an unforgettable debut: Olimpico stadium (“the Olimpico Stadium”?), away match against Roma, and the Romanian team gets a 2-1 win. A draw will come against Chelsea and, despite the elimination, the squad can be proud of what it has done in the Champions League (“Champions’ League”?).

Other experiences since then: Reggina (second coach) and Târgu Mures, Romania again. Finally, the comeback “(return”?) to his home and the collaboration with Guidolin, just in time to try and get a pass for the Champions League (“Champions’ League”?), the most fascinating football adventure ever.
