Pozzo: “Mazza gave Udinese an entrepreneurial mentality”
A forerunner of modern football, a person who made him
fall in love with Udinese. Gianpaolo Pozzo, Udinese patron (“Udinese’s owner”?),
commemorates Cavalier Lamberto Mazza, former president of Udinese at Zico’s
age, who died this morning in Pordenone.
“I fell in love with Udinese thanks to Zico – Pozzo has said – and for this, and for the structural betterments (???) the stadium has been provided with we have to thank Mr Mazza, who has done a lot for our team. Beside (“Besides”?) personal events, Udinese lived an exceptional period under his leadership. If Mr Sanson brought the squad back to the Serie A, Mr Mazza gave it an extra boost and brought an entrepreneurial mentality into the environment, giving a turn to Udinese’s history”.

Guidolin: “Training at the stadium? No counter-intelligence intention”
There is no hidden reason, no intention to protect
“his” creature in the choice made by Francesco Guidolin to carry out training
sessions at the Friuli instead of (“at”?) the Dino Bruseschi sports centre. A
decision made according to two fundamental factors.
“There is no hidden, secret intention in my choice – the coach has said earlier today – and I am not trying to prevent anyone from spying (“spying on”?) our training sessions. I just think that the grandstand can protect us from the suffocating heat and allow us to breathe a little bit better. Moreover, the training ground at the Bruseschi are not (“is not”?) in the best condition, that is why I have chosen to have my lads train at the Friuli, that still has to be given full practicability after the renovations occurred (??) to the stands, therefore it cannot be open to the public. I hope the situation can change soon, I like supporters to come and give a boost to the squad, I’ve never thought carrying (“never thought that”?) out closed-door sessions can be of any help”.
