Udinese...

“I expect to see a great performance: we want to win again”

Gianni De Biasi on the eve of Udinese-Napoli: “Tomorrow, a tough match”

The defeat at the Olimpico for the Coppa Italia match does not seem to have overwhelmed Udinese: progress has been made, and more progress is still to come. Gianni De Biasi is as realistic as usual: “It was a punch in the face. And we didn’t react in the right manner: we lacked of (“of”?) strength and balance. In such situations, you are sometimes a victim of some negative mental approaches I am trying to eradicate. I am sure Udinese will overcome this impasse”. About tomorrow’s match, few doubts (word order….!). “The opponent team (no need to also say “team”) is a high level squad, they must really share some values that make them united and compact. Are we tired? We have only had two days to recover, but I am not worried: after the defeat in Rome we are more and more determined to win again and what I expect to see tomorrow is a great performance and a tough match”.

Gianpaolo Pozzo: “Udinese, congratulations. Maggio was fairly red-carded”

“Isla did not even brush him. The referee did not favour us at all”

An extraordinary win Paron (“Paron”? That’s great, but how many people out there know what “Paron” actually means?) Gianpaolo Pozzo wants to comment about, to stop any rumours or any tendentious interpretations about Udinese-Napoli. First of all, he congratulates the coach and the team: “Congratulations to them all for their win against Napoli, a strong and prepared team. We have obtained a great result, we needed these points to recover, to be more confident, to start anew. Also (,?) in recent matches, we would have deserved the three points, but then they did not arrive (??). We have to breath deeply and keep on struggling, there is still a lot to do. I noticed how the team was tense and nervous during the second half: they knew how important those three points were”. The future is today: “I hope the 3-1 to Napoli (“the 3-1 victory against Napoli…”?) may give us the opportunity to un-block this impasse, and to climb the table in order to get to higher positions, the ones that Udinese has been used to taking (??). We know our true potential”. Today, a little dirty mark (???), too. “I cannot understand why the media are trying to manipulate the red-card to Maggio: the referee was close to him, (“a”?) few metres away, so he had the chance to see the whole thing. In the dressing room, I spoke to Isla (invert the phrase order?): he assured me he didn’t even brush Maggio, and I know him to be a sincere guy. The red-card is a fair decision. Enough with any rumours or tendentious interpretations like these”. 90 intense minutes: “I cannot understand why someone is saying the referee favoured us. It is completely non-sensical. I only want to underline that the team did an excellent performance, and deserved the three points. I am absolutely optimistic about the future”.
