Zapata: “Can’t wait to play VS Napoli”

“Napoli are strong. We’ve got to be perfect”

He’s loaded and wants to play, Cristian Zapata. The 120 minutes he played in Coppa Italia against Lecce have (“has”?) been the hors d’oeuvre, after three weeks of “competitive abstinence” from a menu that, as a main course, serves Sunday afternoon’s match against Napoli. The Columbian ???defender is really longing to play: “I can’t wait to play this match – Zapata explained -. I feel better. After sweating for two hours, yesterday I was a bit tired, but today I feel perfect and, evidently, the work we did during the past weeks, though without official games, was excellent (enough “commas” in this sentence?). I was a bit scared against Lecce at first, but as the minutes passed I got more confident with the field. But that is a past match. Our mind is now focused on Napoli”. Napoli. A hard reality of this championship that, especially in (“on”?) the attack, has some high quality players: “We know Napoli’s value very well – continued Zapata – and we know we can’t let Hamsik, Lavezzi or Cavani too much, because they can get (“be”?) devastating. They play very well, especially by throw (???), and we should try and be short and compact and avoid being careless because it could cost us a lot. But I can tell you, Udinese is ready to face them, we all want to take this luxury scalp (scalp, like the Indians vs. John Wayne???). Defeating Napoli would be a great satisfaction for all Udinese’s world (what about the universe?). I don’t know whether Napoli are stronger than last year or not, all I know is that this is a very weird championship. Each match is very hard and has its own story so, up until the last day, we’ll have to play at our 100%”.
Zapata, finally, drives away some market rumors of the last days: “It’s just rumors – said the Columbian -. I am an Udinese player and all I think about is to make well (“do well”?) in Udine, trying to give my little contribution to the team’s good” (???).

Costumers rule, really?

From the November 25th, 2010 “Sette” magazine (which is part of the “Corriere della Sera”): p. 32 and an article by Beppe Severgnini on Amazon’s big boss, Jeff Bezos: “costumers rule”, or should it be “customers rule”?

Udinese and their match only 10 years ago, really?

Guidolin: “In Tim Cup we want to go as far as we can”

“I believe in my group. Tomorrow is to be many’s chance” (???)

“In the Coppa Italia we want to go as far as we can”. It’s Francesco Guidolin’s belief and, despite Sunday’s home match against Napoli and the inevitable need to let rest (???) those who have been playing all along, he seems to be pretty sure that Udinese, tomorrow evening with Lecce, really means to turn for (“turn for where”?). “We really care about this National manifestation (???) – said the coach from Castelfranco Veneto -. Tomorrow’s (“Tomorrow”?) will be the chance for many to show me, once again, all they’re (“their”?) worth. For many of us, with midweek championship matches and National Teams (“National Team matches”?), will be the third week in a row with three games every seven days, and I think it is logic (“logical”?) and rational not to count always on the same players. It would be silly since, as I keep saying, I believe in all my group’s qualities, not in just a part of it” (???). Guidolin is sure: Lecce won’t be the same as seen in championship (“during the championship”?): “No doubt i twill (“it will”?) be a different kind of match from the one of ten years ago(“ten years ago”? Or ten days ago”?) – he went on -, but I’m thinking more to (“more about my team”?) my team than to Lecce. We Don’t (“don’t”?) have many men in defense, true, and I don’t want to use always the same ones. Angella will be in for sure, but I hope to use Zapata as well, even just for one half. Denis? Tomorrow he’s got an important chance, as we all do, we can’t focus on one single player, even though I clearly hope to have him at his 100% (???) as soon as possible”. Udinese’s coach has analised again the defeat in Rome, making extremely clear what (“that”?) Udinese can do better: “This team can work and grow up more and more (???) – it is Guidolin’s conclusion-. We play a good soccer (“we play good soccer”?) , we have a good personality, but we must become more practical near the goal. We got a clear demonstration on (“in”? or “during”?) Rome’s match: during the first 25 minutes we’ve played (“we played”?) better than them but in the end it was them to rule (“but they ruled”?) by scoring at the first real, proper chance. This is what we have to improve, we can learn how to be cynical from the big teams and, sportingly speaking (???), more mean and determined”.

NEMO Clinical Centre and “Udinese for Life”: a winning team

On Wednesday, 24th November – “Friuli” Stadium’s press room, 11.30am – presentation of the book “Valerio Bertotto – The Captain”

Less than 48 hours to go, to the long-awaited presentation of the book “Valerio Bertotto – The Captain”, in which the historical “Zebrette” captain traces all his career and his personal history in Udinese. The story, 144 pages long, enhance (“enhances”? Udinese’s former number 4 (“4’s”?) human side as well as his sports one. Hence, the decision to reserve a part of the money raised with the sale to “Udinese for Life”.
Udinese’s non-profit organisation, which has been committed with fund-raisings and initiatives in support of socially relevant issues all along, seizes the day to strengthen its friendship with NEMO Clinical Centre of Niguarda Cà Granda Hospital in Milan. One year ago the organization, strongly wished for (??) by Ms. Giuliana Linda Pozzo, has passed over Friuli’s borders for the first time for a donation in favour of the Centre known thanks to Massimo Mauro and Gianluca Vialli.
NEMO Clinical Centre, managed by Serena Foundation, assists all people suffering from severe and invalidating diseases such as muscular dystrophies (“dystrophy”?), muscular spinal atrophies, sensitive-motor hereditary neuropathies and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), moreover it promotes clinical researches and supports therapeutic activities. In the vanguard (??, a literal translation of “all’avanguardia”!) both from a clinical and technological point of view, it is a benchmark for those people who are suffering from neuromuscular diseases and it has, as a main goal, to improve their life quality (“their quality of life”?).
It is therefore a scientific centre of excellence, which can provide people very high quality standards. The choice to support NEMO Centre has been taken with care, as to better distribute its effects. The path started in Friuli and in Friuli it comes again (???). In 2009, 83thousand Euro have been given (“83,000 Euros were given”?) for the renovation of a whole pediatric (“paediatric”?) pavilion and for the purchase of new machinery, whereas the next donation will be used for the renovation of the new areas of NEMO Centre, where there will be the age of development area, the rehabilitative area and the lung sector (run-on sentence…). The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 24th November, at 11.30am, at “Friuli” Stadium’s press room. The meeting will be open to the public and will be hosted by SKY’s journalist Giorgia Bortolossi. Among the guests, there are also the former (“There will also be among the guests”…?) Udinese’s captain Valerio Bertotto, “Udinese for Life” patroness (??) Ms. Giuliana Linda Pozzo, the author of the book Tommaso Refini and the President of (“the”?) Serena Foundation-non-profit organization NEMO Clinical Centre Mr. Alberto Fontana who is to honor Udinese’s non-profit organization with his presence and make the relationship that fights against terrible diseases even closer, as well as make a welcome (“welcomed”?) surprise.

From Naples’s soccer and their official web site (just for a change)!

The Blue Week
by
Bruno Marra

We tried the gastronomic itinerary in any flovour (??). That fragrant (“fragrance”?) in my Romagna, the Spartan and dry of the Golden eagle (???). Sumptuous banquet and humble table. We must adapt to every type of meal. In Cesena a toast with Champagne, now in the inn of Frascati we have a quarterwine "de' li Castelli". To adapt is a virtuous thing.

Of course, they will turn around with poisoned meatballs, they will hung (“hang”?) on us goliardic culinary metaphors, but they will not dissolve the phenomenal taste of Sardinian bread, the "carasau" with "Cannonau". An aroma that explodes in a cannon shot, like that one of the Pocho Lavezzi that reversed the island and submerged it with the aura of a God of ancient Atlantis (????). A roar that still echoes in the den of the King of the Mountain, as the echoes of the majestic work of Grieg that smooths the harmony of glacial fjords. These are spells that extend beyond any human roughness. The infinity of the Pocho, in the blue Ocean Blue.

If you let us we take the best, the balm and honey of a team that has played 8 matches in less than a month, that is third in league (“in the league”?), that scored for eleven consecutive matches, fighting (“fights”?), entertains, excites, stabs and sublimates as in Naples has not been seen for ages (???). And only for this it deserves "honey and sugar" by a people who appreciate gourmet delicacies and wonderful sensations.

The day after the Olympic lunch, it is better to focus on the accurate picture of the check-up, important analysis and often required when the ball is an affair of state (what a sentence!!). Before the global village of antennas sends its clamour, attacking the reasonable and compassionate mercy.

Honor and pride of the men is also in recognizing the virtues of others. Therefore space and walkway for Lazio that found the metaphor of Olimpia, the eagle that flies on top of beautiful thoughts. We are a bit lower, but the championship is still a long (“a long one”?). I wish it ends up here. It would mean to be in the elite of the unspeakable desire, in the pure group of the continent's champions.

The victory at Cagliari certifies the authenticity and exclusivity of this team that has gained with contemporary academic an encyclopedic (“encyclopaedic”?) reference for the epic nature of their dedds (???). The story unfolds and is defined by the sedimentation of significant events, but there is no need of the famous posterity for a sentence that is visible to all, and is not at all difficult (what another sentence?).

This Napoli will be a legend. They will be called Mazzarri's Warriors, those of the impossible recoveries and goals at the end of Glory. These are hard numbers that have an impregnable soul. Since Mazzari's age to today, matches reversed on the wire of adrenaline are as many as 9, and the goals scored in the last 10 minutes are 14 (???). A phenomenology that reveals an absolute truth: this is the best and exciting team in the last three decades.

The Neverending (“Never Ending”?) Story starts again on Sunday, in the evening of the celebration. Here comes the Bologna (salami?), learned and greedy city . Let's do find a lot of stuff (what kind of stuff?). Light the stars of Fuorigrotta, puffed out our chest andhug them strong (???). The Warriors are back!
