From Bierhoff to Di Natale. When the king of goalscorers leads us to Europe.
Suburban )??) goalscorers, symbols of Udinese history (“Udinese’s history”?). Only three players have achieved the important goal of winning the Serie A top goalscorer ranking with Udinese, and they all hold a special place in the hearts and memories of Friulian supporters.
The first one was Oliver Bierhoff in 1997-1998, when Udinese got themselves an historic (“a historic”?) and resounding third place that allowed them to enter UEFA Cup (“the UEFA Cup”?) for the second year in a row. The squad was then coached by Alberto Zaccheroni and made of the ‘German ram’ (??), Marcio Amoroso and Paolo Poggi, who turned out to be very dangerous for many award-winning defences that (“during that”?) championship.
The year after Bierhoff went playing to (“went to play with”?) AC Milan with Zac, together with the Danish outside (???)Helveg. His inheritance was taken by (“taken up by”?) Marcio Amoroso who, as a first striker, came into the limelight and scored 22 goals, winning the special top-goalscorer classification.
More recent history, on the other hand ( begin phrase with “On the one hand”…followed by “On the other hand”), knows one name only: Antonio Di Natale: the captain, for the second year in a row, has managed to beat his world competition such as Ibrahimovic, Eto’o and Cavani scoring 28 goals, one less than last year, when he missed the fateful 30 quota by 1 (“by one goal”?).
For the third time in history, when one of Udinese (“Udinese’s”?) strikers wins the top goalscorer title, patron (“boss”?) Pozzo's squad achieves Europe (???). A pleasant coincidence which supporters hope can last long.
