Udinese...

“Golden Collar” (for dogs?) to Udinese: bianconero proudness!

Udinese feel very much satisfied for the prestigious acknowledgement received by the CONI, the “Golden Collar”. Udinese have been awarded this acknowledgement by the highest Italian sports authority thanks to the activity exercised (in a gym?) and the merits achieved in over a century. The Golden Collar represents the greatest sports honors instituted by the Coni (“by Coni”?) to acknowledge the highest sports achievements accomplished by our athletes, as well as the sports merits of long-standing Clubs or of those sports managers who have dedicated an important part of their lives to the sport.
After being awarded, by the main actors (Oscar winners too?) of Italian football, with a prize for the best club, given during the AIC Football Grand Gala, Udinese can now boast a new, prestigious acknowledgement they have been given in the presence of the highest representatives of Italian sport and of the Prime Minister Professor Mario Monti.
The proudness for such an achievement is easily detectable in the words of Udinese president, Pozzo, who has said (or “who said”?): “This award should be shared with all my predecessors, because if we are still here after 108 years, it means it has been a good group work. We wish we can do even better”.
During a sad moment, here comes an important smile upon the faces of Friulian people.

SPEEDYOUNG: UDINESE CALCIO TO RUN WITH THE MARATONINA

On Saturday 28 April, at 4 pm o’clock, the Speedyoung will begin at the Moretti-Foni park! The small marathon dedicated to the children of Udine’s elementary schools is organized by the Associazione Maratonina Udinese and Udinese Calcio. The course, of some 900 meters, stretches along the paths of the central green park of the town. The young students will have the chance to run beside Udinese players, the athletes of the Associazione Maratonina Udinese and the coordinators of track-and-fields (“track and field”?). The event will be attended also by Venanzio Ortis, vice-president of the Association and European champions (are they twins? Is there MORE than one Venanzio Ortis?) on 5000 meters in Prague in 1978. The free enrollment to the (“in the”?) non-competitive run will be gathered ahead of the start (“before the start”?) at the Moretti Park. At the end of the manifestation (“event”?), all the participants will take part in a buffet. Moreover, the FunnyTime animators will draw the winners of (“will draw the winners for Udinese gadgets”?) Udinese gadgets. It is an healthy (“a healthy”?) way to transmit the values of sport and draw children closer to the world of running with the contribution of Udinese Calcio and of the Associazione Maratonina Udinese, a benchmark for the regional running (“for regional running”?).
“We are pleased to collaborate to this new (“with this new initiative”?) initiative – says Paolo Bordon, president of the Associazione Maratonina Udinese -. We have been contacted by Udinese and we got this idea that has, as a common belief, the will to promote sports and involve the youth (“an involve youth”?) in an efficient enthusiastic way in one of the most important places of the town, the Moretti-Foni park”. The patroness (????) of Udinese’s non-profit organization “Udinese for Life”, Giuliana Linda Pozzo, couldn’t agree more: “It is an event aimed at being the icing on the cake of the large amount of initiatives we have already promoted at the Foni Park. I hope this small marathon, together with the first “Children book festival”, due on 6 May, can give this wonderful park the life blood it needs to become more and more a point of reference of our town (“become more and more a reference point for our town”?). We are deeply committed into it (“deeply committed to it”?) and now, thanks to the friends of the Maratonina Udinese, we can depend on one more ally”.

“Udinese for Life”

Udinese Calcio and Udinese for Life, after the suspension of the fundraising aimed at granting a life annuity to (“for”?) Maria Carla Morosini, due to the decision of Atalanta Calcio to take care autonomously of the girl, wish to thank all the people who have joined the initiative. Udinese’s non-profit organization and the Banca di Credito Cooperativo di Manzano remind you that all the donors can ask for a refund of the money banked (??) into the current account. Otherwise, the money raised will be given, in name of Piermario Morosini, to the Pediatric Oncology Unit of the “Santa Maria Degli Angeli” hospital in Pordenone.
