Domizzi: “The referee’s mistake is really serious”
Maurizio Domizzi tells the referee in no uncertain terms at the end of the unlucky match at the Silvio Piola in Novara. “I don’t think our major problem was tiredness. It’s not easy to play every three days, but we’re used to it. We resisted physically and in the end we could have won”.
How important was Danilo’s nullified (“annulled” or “cancelled”?) goal?
“From my perpective (“perspective”?), it was regular, the referee was taking too much time to decide. He told me he had blown his whistle for Benatia’s off-side and if you watch the images it’s clear he was confused. It’s a serious mistake, we were worth a draw”. How important is Lazio’s stop (stop in what way?)? “The fact Lazio have lost makes it even more bitter, because we could have gained one point. But now we need to focus on Thursday’s match. It’s not going to be easy, AZ are two goals ahead”. Are Napoli your new rivals now? “They are a great team. We had conquered a good margin, but we’ve wasted it. We knew the teams behind us could have recovered, we’re not surprised”.
