UDINE READY TO WELCOME LIVERPOOL FANS

Infopoint in “piazza Primo Maggio” organized by the Town Hall, Udinese Calcio and Udinese Clubs with the support of the police force.

On the occasion of the Europa League match Udinese - Liverpool on Thursday 6 December (or “December 6th”?), the city of Udine is preparing to offer a welcome and hospitality to the British fans who are following the team. More than a thousand fans, 600 of whom sleeping (“will be sleeping in Udine”?) in Udine, are expected. The Municipality of Udine (or “City of Udine”?), in collaboration with Udinese Calcio and the Udinese Club Association, decided (“have decided”?) to organize an information point service and an hospitality (“a hospitality point”?) point for Liverpool fans who will be welcomed by the representatives of the Udinese Club Association under the big tent set up in Piazza Primo Maggio from late morning on Thursday. The greeting of the authorities is scheduled for 12.30.
Udine is one of the few cities that the Home Office has chosen to experience this form of reception, already made (“organized”?) around Europe and planned (“which is planned”?) to spread the knowledge of the cities where the matches are played. For this reason, under the tent set up in Piazza Primo Maggio, the fans will be given informative material on Udine, made available by the Tourism Fvg (“staff”?). "The fact that the reception in Udine, invented a few years ago, is being be used as a model gives satisfaction and is an important recognition to the city and to the fans of Udinese - said the mayor Furio Honsell – but it also shows how beautiful and important is (“it is to have”?) to have and be alongside a club as prestigious as Udinese which bears the name of Udine in Europe. My welcome goes to Liverpool fans, a city that is home to a very prestigious team and where football was born as a genuine people (“people’s sport”?) sport. "
"For us it is a source of pride - said Udinese president Franco Soldati – to host such a prestigious club as Liverpool. This game is an important part of our history, especially after the first-leg win. Udinese are very pleased to contribute to the reception event that represents the opportunity to return and thank Liverpool for their sportsmanship and friendship shown in the first-leg match. This kind of twinning is desirable in football to strengthen relations of solidarity and values which go beyond the mere meaning of the game."
The police forces of Udine "acknowledge the fairness and sportsmanship of the majority of the Friulian fans, qualities that have helped Udine become a model for the testing of innovative initiatives at national level, all designed to transform football matches into a show available to anyone. They also recognize the valuable work done by the local administration, the institutions and Udinese Calcio, which together with that of police forces, can consistently achieve maximum results at national level in the management of football events. "
