“No more speculations about the winter transfer window: hands off the group”

Official press release by Gianpaolo Pozzo: “Nobody important is leaving; if needed, someone is arriving”

The words of Gianpaolo Pozzo are sound and clear. And cannot be mistaken. It is the moment to be as one (??) for a team that has showed (“showed”? How about “shown”?) they can still play god (“god”. God actually played football? How about “good”?) football as against Lazio. That is why, at present, distorted news are unnecessary and dangerous (makes sense…).

“This press release is meant to deny all rumours about some players of ours leaving the team during this winter transfer window. Please we do not want more nonsensical news till the end of the month. I say it sound and clear: hands off the group. There will not be any transfer. We firmly believe in this group, which has showed they can overcome difficulties in more than one occasion, and we are not changing it. These speculations, by the media but not only by them, do not help the team. I am making an appeal to everybody’s responsibility: Udinese have found new cohesion and are willing to fight. It is serious to hear such news having no foundation at all: there are no negotiations for the players representing our historical group. Maybe, in order to support the team, we may consider new players joining in”.

Gianpaolo Pozzo’s words are plain, especially after yesterday’s performance against Lazio.

“I saw a resolute team fighting hard: this is the right path to reach the hot zone of the table. I am optimistic due to Sunday’s performance. To our supporters, always so proud, coherent and passionate, I ask to support us more than ever. The only way to overcome this moment is to go on hand in hand, altogether, without dangerous and useless speculations. This is not the right way to support the Club”.
