Udinese...

Obodo Christian

Born in Warri (Nigeria) on 11-05-1984, Midfielder

His Italian debut was in Perugia in 2001 . He remained there for three consecutive seasons, playing 62 championship matches and five UEFA Cup games. In 2004-05 Fiorentina wanted him: he gave his contribution with 33 caps and two nets (??) with the viola.

The year after, Serse Cosmi’ Udinese hired him (do you really “hire” a player if you’re the coach?? Or is that left up to the club president/management?) . Cosmi had been Christian’s coach when he was in Perugia. In 2005-06 he took part with the Friulian team into Champions League and UEFA Cup hitting the pitch 41 times. In the 2006-07 season he got seriously injured to his right knee ligament during a training session and had to leave the field for a long time, until December that year. Between December and January, he played in three Coppa Italia games and one championship match to Milan (“to Milan” or “against Milan”?). At the beginning of February he had to undergo another knee surgery who knocked him (or “which knocked him out”) out for the rest of the season.
On 28 February 2007 at San Siro, he scored a spectacular overhead kick which went straight into the net thus breaking Inter’s 17 consecutive winning games. In summer 2009 (“in the summer…”) he underwent a third surgery and he is unfortunately still away from the pitch.
